Our Winston is now with Maddie. He was so handsome and had the most soulful eyes. We loved him for sixteen years and had to make that difficult decision to let him go. Maybe we loved him a little too much and waited longer than we should to make that decision. Blind, deaf and dementia slowed him down, but he was still a character to the end. He and Maddie were never separated until last October when she passed away. He grieved along with us. There is no denying Yorkies are a handful, but the love, affection and memories they give far outweigh their big personalities and little quirks. Since Winston’s passing our home is too quiet and we see Yorkies everywhere when we are out. My husband is drawn to them like magnets. It still hurts too much to think of getting another….but I know we will.
