Scout Stanfield

On Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at the of age seven, Scout Justice Stanfield peacefully crossed the Rainbow Bridge, surrounded by her family.

Scout was a rescue puppy from Dog’s Second Chance and joined our Stanfield family in October 2013.  The moment she was spotted a forever bond was formed.  Her sweet disposition, eyes and the cute tiny white spot on her chest helped her to stand out from the others.

Scout spent her days taking care and guarding her family.  She was always available to greet family and guests making sure visitors were acceptable to enter her domain.  Anytime a Costco chicken arrived she was first to take a sample.  Spending time in her backyard, going for walks, playing with ropes and toys, or offering support to a family member was what Scout enjoyed most.  She answered to her various nicknames bestowed on her like Scouty, Shuggs, Dragon, Baby Dog and Carol.

Scout was a constant companion ensuring her family was safe and loved.  Even those last few days when she was so sick and weak, she gave her best and fulfilled her mission.  Scout was good at many things, but unconditional love and friendship were her strong points.  Though her life was short, she was a loved by many and made an everlasting impact on this family.

Scout is survived by her forever loving devoted dog mommy, Sarah Stanfield. Her grandparents, Bill and Kathy Stanfield, uncle Nathan Stanfield, aunts Sydney Curtright, Rachel Craig, Ally Jennings, Stephanie Stanfield and Marti Gray, great grandparents Horace and Katie Stanfield and cousins Caden Goetz, Mason Curtright, Logan and Collins Craig and dog-cousins Cooper, Lyla and Waylon.

She was preceded by her sister dog Maddie Lou Stanfield who is waiting by the Rainbow Bridge to welcome Scout with her favorite squeaky ball and rope.

Scout was loved so much, and her family misses her greatly. Her memory will live in all our hearts, and we look forward to seeing her again soon in Heaven.  Life was better with Scout by our side.
